Vinewood

The IEPA and IDOT permit has been obtained in June for this project for approximately 2,500 feet of water main replacement on Vinewood Ave from Cliff Street to Charleton and Charleton North to Archer. A bid was published for this work only to receive the news that the soil on this project tested positive for Arsenic which is naturally occurring in the soil. The arsenic levels are very low and under any harmful levels that would affect the residents or workers but due to the presence of the element the standard disposal companies and IEPA force us to dispose of the soil in a specified way. Due to the extensive cost of the special removal and disposal for the soil the Commission found it relative to re-publish the bid with this soil factor and disposal cost.
