Installing a new 20" water main from Archer to 79th Street behind Damar Funeral Home to provide service to new gas station development as well as improve operational stability to our water system.
Week of July 4th

Construction work has officially commenced for the installation of a new water main.

July 29, 2025
  • Installed 83 feet of pipe and a 120-inch vault and valve.
  • Continued trench excavation and directional boring.
  • Crews will proceed toward Archer Avenue, following Damar’s alignment from 79th Street.
August 1, 2025
  • Installed three (3) 20-foot sections of 8-inch water main.
  • Installed one (1) 18-foot section of 8-inch water main including a tee (8″x6″) to facilitate future lateral connections.
  • Valve box installation is pending and will be completed during the next phase of work.
  • The water line will be reduced in diameter at the designated location to accommodate the installation of a new fire hydrant.
August 20, 2025
  • Began excavation to prepare the connection of the new water main at the intersection of 87th Avenue and 79th Street.
  • Coordination in place to ensure safe and efficient connection to existing infrastructure.

Prior to the start of work, proper notifications were made to the following departments:

  • Building Department
  • Police Department
  • Village Hall
  • Fire Department
